GCSA staff provides consulting to assist schools in a wide variety of ways:
Governance Training for Boards – Training for charter school boards including fiduciary responsibilities, staying out of hot water, and effective work of boards.
Time: 2-4 hours
Fees: Base training $500 (2 hours); additional, customized training on school specific needs $190 per hour
Sustainability Institute – Facilitation of sustainability planning to assist schools in creating vision and results orientation, developing a strategic financing plan, building community support and organizational capacity, and writing a sustainability plan. Includes a “planning to plan” session to prepare schools for the process.
Time: 2 – 3 days (can be broken into portions of days)
Fees: $1,200 ($190 per hour for CSA consulting beyond 3 days)
Funding – Trains boards and school leaders on how Georgia public school revenue is calculated and provides insight and strategies on maximizing funding through hiring and scheduling.
Time: 2 hours
Fees: $500
Finance and Accounting – Training for founding boards, school leaders, and business managers on establishing and maintaining a strong financial management system.
Time: 1.5-2 hours
Fees: $250
Strategic Planning – Facilitation of boards through the strategic planning process. Includes “planning to plan” session to prepare schools for the process.
Time: 2-3 days (can be broken into portions of days)
Fees: $1,200 ($190 per hour for GCSA consulting beyond 3 days)
Fiscal Health Training – Training and facilitation for planning for fiscal health monitoring by boards and school leaders.
Time: 2-3 hours
Fees: $500
Please note that Professional Learning Units (PLUs) are available for some trainings. Please inquire when registering. Also, travel expenses will apply for consulting provided outside of the Atlanta metro area.
Ad-Hoc Trainings based on the needs of schools is always available for $190 per hour (travel expenses not included).

Consultant Available for Petition Drafting & Review, Grant Writing and Review, Consulting and Legal Services
Holly Green, of Education Advisors, LLC, is an education consultant and attorney who has been screened and recommended by GCSA. Ms. Green has extensive knowledge in the charter schools area through her previous experience with the Georgia Department of Education. While serving as an associate general counsel for the DOE from 2003 to 2005, Holly worked extensively with the charter schools division, assisting with the redrafting of the charter schools rule and the charter school contracts; advising the charter schools division on charter petition issues; and providing technical assistance in the area of grant review and implementation.
Holly also served as Director of Legal Services for the Georgia State Financing & Investment Commission, providing her with extensive knowledge of local school board funding and the financial needs of public charter schools. Holly’s background with the Georgia DOE, combined with her technical writing skills and her capability to manage multiple projects and analyze complex documents, make her an especially well-rounded consultant for the Association.
A graduate of the Valparaiso University School of Law, Holly is a practicing attorney licensed in Georgia. Her consulting work centers on charter petition drafting and review, technical assistance questions and grant proposal assistance.
