Ivy Preparatory Academy – (State Charter Schools Commission)

“Within a structured and supportive environment, Ivy Prep develops elementary, middle, and high school students into thoroughly equipped scholars who are prepared to enter and succeed in the colleges and universities of their choice.”
- The Ivy Prep Mission

Ivy Preparatory Academy for Girls & Ivy Preparatory Young Men’s Leadership Academy (Atlanta, Georgia) is a nonprofit organization (public charter school) founded in 2011 by education entrepreneur Nina Gilbert and a group of education, business and civic leaders.  The mission of the Ivy Preparatory Network is to provide high quality education within a structured and supportive environment. Ivy Prep develops elementary, middle, and high school students into thoroughly equipped scholars who are prepared to enter and succeed in the colleges and universities of their choice.

Our first school, Ivy Preparatory Academy at Gwinnett, for Girls opened in 2008 and it was Georgia’s first gender-based school for girls. In 2011, two schools opened in DeKalb County, Ivy Preparatory Academy for Girls and Ivy Preparatory Young Men’s Leadership Academy.

Our public charter school focuses on building the scholarly habits, attitudes, and skills students need to succeed in college, in their communities, and in life. Our seamless college preparatory model provides Ivy Prep students with a rigorous curriculum, engaging teachers, and a safe, supportive and nurturing learning environment that develops the academic, behavioral and personal skills of all students.

Our charter is established to expand a grade each academic year.
