Georgia Connections Academy Charter School (GACA) is a tuition-free, K–12, public cyber school that students attend from home. GACA brings a fully accredited public education directly to your family’s door—anywhere in Georgia.
Our mission is to maximize academic achievement for students in grades K–12 throughout the state of Georgia who need an alternative to the traditional classroom. Georgia Connections Academy fulfills the intent of the Georgia legislature in the Charter School Law to “increase student achievement through academic and organizational innovation” by reaching students for whom a cutting-edge virtual approach provides the best pathway to school success.
Georgia Connections Academy is authorized under state law by the State Charter Schools Commission of Georgia.The school is operated by Georgia Connections Academy, a nonprofit corporation, through a contract with Connections Academy of Georgia, LLC, to provide its educational program and other services. The school is governed by an independent school board and all meetings are open to the public. Georgia Connections Academy has an enrollment cap of 4,000 students for the 2014–15 school year. The cap has been met for grades K-5 and grade 8. Students enrolling in these grades will be placed on a waiting list as all enrollment tasks are completed and released to enroll once space becomes available. Space is still available in grades 6 & 7 and 9-12, but is very limited. Students will be enrolled on a first come/first served basis until all spaces are filled. Once the cap is met in grades 6 & 7 and 9-12, students will be placed on a waiting list once all enrollment tasks are completed and released to enroll as space becomes available. Please complete all enrollment tasks as soon as possible as space is limited.
