The Neighborhood Charter and Atlanta Charter Middle Schools are seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Business Manager at their schools located in the Grant Park area of Atlanta. Schools have separate campuses, thus the position has the potential to be full part-time (shared) or two part-time placement)
Qualifications:
- Degree in Educational Administration, Administration, Finance, Business or other related field.
- Professional, personable, flexible and ability to work effectively with a wide variety of individuals and groups.
- Experience with full budget development and finance administration preferred.
- 3-5 years experience of school management or business management experience preferred.
- Concern for the fiscal solvency and success of our schools.
- Sound and ethical judgment.
- Responsiveness to the financial and program needs of our school.
Position reports executive director/principal and requires a full background check. Salary commensurate with experience.

Scope of Responsibilities:
Budget & Finances
- Develop monthly, yearly, and long-term projected budgets and updating these budgets as needed in collaboration with board finance chair and principal
- Manage the accounts payable process
- Act as the school’s contact with Atlanta Public Schools (APS) and Georgia Department of Education (GDOE) for monthly allocations and other state/federal funds (such as Title I) and insuring their accuracy
- Provide oversight for the school’s financial controls and procedures, working in collaboration with executive director/principal and office manager
- Manage the school’s banking relationship, including deposits, reconciliations, transfer of funds, and working with capital line credit
- Manage the reimbursement process for school staff and board committees
- Serve on the board’s finance committee
- Work with the board’s fundraising committee on an as-needed basis to provide financial information and support
- Work with the school’s development staff on an as-needed basis to provide financial information and support
- Serve as the school’s liaison during audit process, providing all necessary documents to auditor and implementing recommended improvements
Food Service
- Oversee and manage the school’s relationship with its food service provider and program in collaboration with principal
Building & Grounds
- Oversee the daily and long-term care and maintenance of the school’s building and grounds in collaboration with the board’s building and grounds committee and school staff
- Coordinate and manage the school’s relationship with janitorial provider
- Coordinate and manage the school’s relationship with contractors
- Work in collaboration with principal and board to develop long-term building and grounds improvement plan
- Maintain proper and adequate insurance coverage for the school building
- Insure compliance with local, state, and federal building safety and accessibility regulations
Additional Expectations
- Participate in pre-service training and on-going professional development as requested by school administration
- Remain current in the use and management of requisite technology
- All other duties as requested
