Director of Business Development Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for identifying and developing customers for school turnarounds and new charter schools, writing proposals, and identifying community partners and vendors to strengthen proposals.
  • Develop and coordinate presentations.
  • Use social media and multiple marketing channels and networking opportunities to develop new business.
  • Use multiple sources of data collection to analyze market trends and opportunities.
  • Respond to RFPs and RFIs from state agencies, school districts and charter school boards
  • Contribute to a company culture that focuses on ethical business practices and successful business relations.
  • Articulate a clear vision of the goals, objectives and commitment of the company to all stakeholders.  Communicate effectively with Mosaica’s leadership team and community.
  • Establish, develop, and maintain relationships with new customers.
  • Work with the leadership team to understand and deliver on internal business requirements.
  • Produce effective marketing communications.
  • Develop relationships with community groups and potential contractors/partners to strengthen proposals.
  • Make decisions for the organization by assessing ROI, risk and cost/benefit.

Director of Business Development Required Education/Qualifications/Skills:

  • Degree in Business or Information Technology; MBA preferred;
  • 3-5 years experience working in education, preferably in a charter school environment;
  • Minimum of 3+ years experience in a business development capacity;
  • Exceptional writing, sales, marketing, customer service, and decision-making skills;
  • Strong leadership, project management and time management skills;
  • Passion for the education reform industry, and solid relationships with network of colleagues;
  • Ability to develop strong relationships and work with senior level executives;
  • Solid business acumen, senior management, and problem-solving skills;
  • Highly proficient with computer applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
