Reporting: Position reports to the Special Programs Director
Work Year: This position is a full time, 12 month position.
Job Responsibilities:
Maintain all special education files for students with disabilities including but not limited to:
-Organization of files
-Related Services files
-Individualized Education Plans, Follow-up of all signature pages
-Coordinate with special education teachers for missing documents.
-Evaluation Team Reports, Follow-up of all signature pages
-Coordinate with all departments (psychologists, related services and special
education compliance departments) to receive and file reports as necessary.
-Cooperates with enrollment team to facilitate new student enrollments in special
education
-Processes incoming records and uploads them to the appropriate database
-Communicates status of records to Caseload Teachers
-Process requests for records from outside School Systems/Agencies within 24 hours
-Assist in regular file reviews to ensure compliancy to include verifying the presence of
documents
-Work with special education director and other administrative staff to develop and present
appropriate training to special education staff to support compliancy efforts
-All other duties as assigned

Requirements

Job Qualifications:
– Knowledge of, or the ability to learn, Georgia’s special education compliance requirements

-Demonstrated organizational skills and knowledge of systematic filing procedures
-Ability to perform job duties using scanning document procedures, MS word document
processing, Excel, answering the telephone, faxing and copying documents, and operating a postage machine
-Must be able use web-based database programs to enter and monitor Special Education
information
-Provide evidence of verbal and written communication skills
-Ability to function as part of a team of office professionals
