The Globe Academy – Operations Manager

A multi-talented member of the School Leadership Team, the Operations Manager provides leadership in the areas of operations, financial management, and human resources in support of the Head of School’s execution of The GLOBE Academy’s Vision & Mission. Ensuring 100% compliance with our charter and applicable laws, our ideal Operations Manager is a strong, consistent, and compassionate leader who is known for their consistent and thoughtful approach, precise execution on deliverables, responsiveness, and professionalism. Like the Head of School, the Operations Manager is a model reflection of our core beliefs and values in all school activities.

Primary Functions & Essential Responsibilities:  



  • Monitors, adheres to and enforces applicable charter, state, county, and local laws and policies that apply to school operations
  • Joint oversight and management (with Head of School) of financial records; oversees financial operation of the school and demonstrates appropriate fiscal management of funds; responsible for reviewing and approving all payables
  • Partners with the Head of School to manage state-wide testing policies, procedures, and mandates by attending all county level testing meetings and following county and state mandated procedures for administering tests
  • Oversees data collection and maintenance
  • Oversees the school facilities to maintain a safe, attractive, productive, and child-centered place in which to work and learn
  • Oversees all human resources functions and activities including, but not limited to, staff onboarding, authoring the school handbook in compliance with the charter, recordkeeping, and supervising non-instructional staff, etc.
  • Is the secondary spokesperson for the school following the Head of School as primary
  • Works collaboratively with the Leadership Team to develop and effectively implement a School Improvement Plan.
  • Attends Governing Board meetings and reports financial and educational data Financial Balance Sheet
  • Serves on the Staffing Committee
  • Attends Charter School Association meetings, state Charter Schools meetings, and any other meetings deemed necessary by the Governing Board to effectively manage school operations and to implement the charter
  • Votes in the case of a tie in a Governing Board meeting
  • Creates, maintains, and enforces school crisis management plan complying with all state and local mandates related to reporting of crisis management
  • Any additional duties or responsibilities as required of an effective operations leader, or as assigned by the Head of School


Education, Certification/License, and Other Qualifications


  • Minimum High School diploma required, Bachelor’s degree preferred



  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in operational, fiscal, and human resources leadership capacities
  • Exceptional candidates who offer a combination of professional and educational achievement will also be considered

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities


  • Models leadership through strong knowledge of operations, financial, and human resources management principles and practices
  • Exceptional, effective, and proactive communication style with the ability to communicate with all levels of our school community regarding school matters
  • Knowledge of charter school law; understanding of funding sources and school budget and management; general knowledge of all office equipment; maintain confidentiality; effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate professionally with students, parents, staff, and the community.
  • Knowledge and understanding of FTE counts and reporting
